Evo Magazine Shoot with World's Speed Record Holder, Andy Green

Evo magazine, published out of England recently commissioned me to photograph World Land-Speed Record Holder, Andy Green who was at Bonneville Salt Flats doing a TV promotion with Bentley just before Christmas. It was the first time I’d been to these famous flats despite having lived in the US for over 12 years now. But what an assignment. Green himself could have written the book on ‘Cool’ and would make a pretty good James Bond too I reckon. Not content with being the fastest man ON earth and being the first (and only) man to break the sound barrier on land he will soon be attempting to go one better and break the 1000mph barrier. Brave fellow for sure.
I captured his film star good looks as he was just about to get in a Bentley and whisk reporter, David Vivian, along the sand at over 185mph. I think I captured the essence of this guy in his cool stare across the flats and you can see the result on the opening pages of the article.

I photograph a Bonneville ‘Garden’ as the Bentley waits on the highway

Rest of the trip was spent touring the area in a $350,000 Bentley Mulsanne. Hard life.
Take a look at more pics below or see the whole 12-page article in the January 2013 issue of Evo magazine.
